When a friend of mine knew I was desperate for a red dachshund she made it a mission to find me a breeder and she was suitably chuffed when she found beautiful Luna online. She showed me her photo and I got in touch with Kate at Coots who was so friendly and helpful from the start. I was sure if I would have Luna who was 6 months old or wait for a pup in July but the more videos Kate and Marina sent me of Luna the more I fell in love with her! We saw Hamish on Coots Facebook page and we messaged Kate. All communication around him, his routine, food, travel ect. was brilliant. My husband and I were recommended to Coots at Eversden by friends who had purchased two miniature red boys, after being introduced to them we decided the time was right to bring our love for miniatures into the family.

Coots kept us well informed from the birth of our boys by sharing their videos from birth to five months old, showing also how to be fully prepared for their arrival, very informative and professional to say the least. When the boys arrived we were delighted with their stunning colouring and temperament. Ronnie and Reggie have settled in very well and it’s only taken 3 days to have dry nights as they have come to us very well trained. They have integrated with other dogs very well which we are really pleased with.

We have been dachshund fans for years, and finding Coots at Eversden felt like a sign that it was finally time to welcome a dog into our lives.

We instantly fell for Giorgio the moment we saw his pictures and we are so happy with him. The support from Coots has been exceptional, particularly from Kate and Marina. There’s a plethora of educational material within the owners area which whilst at first was a bit overwhelming it has been hugely helpful in getting everything ready for our pup. We recently adopted a dachshund from Coots, and I couldn’t be a happier, prouder dad! We visited their location in Braknitsa a couple times, and everything looked fantastic – super neat and clean, well-organised, and you can tell the dogs are raised with so much love and care. The ladies running it (Kate & Marina) are the kindest, very knowledgeable, and truly passionate about their pups.

From the moment we reserved our puppy, they kept us updated with weekly pictures and videos about how he was doing and what he was being trained on, which made the wait so much more exciting! When we finally brought him home, we were amazed – he was already well-socialised, great on a leash, and even trained to be comfortable during bath time! He’s incredibly well-behaved, which just goes to show how much effort they put into raising their puppies the right way. We recently got our miniature long-haired Dachshund from Coots, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! Kate was incredibly accommodating, making sure we had all the information we needed before choosing our puppy. We’ve had Maple for just over a week and she’s such a lovely dog. So gentle and affectionate. I’ve had a puppy before and didn’t want to go through that again so getting an infant was ideal. She walks so well on the lead, is gentle with my son and is such a character. Kate and the team have been brilliant through the whole process, with loads of advice and updates. I have had so many compliments about her, many people are amazed at how chilled she is (we are yet to hear her bark!) I would encourage everyone to research the breed throughly so you understand their needs and align your expectations.

I have been following Coots for several years and always knew when the time was right we would have a dachshund from them as they consistently stand out to be the most professional, ethical and highest quality dachshund breeder.

This week my wife and I received our puppy-Xiangxiu, she is truly a perfect puppy, thank you Kate and Marina in Bulgaria who gave us unrivalled service, also thank you to the transport team, I would highly recommend purchasing a puppy of your own from coots, won’t regret it.

I received my gorgeous infant Margot recently and I cannot fault the service provided by the fantastic Coots team. From the moment I made my enquiry Kate provided all information I needed and more. Then once I had chosen my precious Margot the wonderful Marina provided video updates and photos which soon became a weekly highlight. The care and dedication that Coots give to the puppies and their prospective families is second to none. So you’ve chosen a Dachshund. Good choice. Easy part over. Many of us are aware of breeder ‘horror’ stories. Fortunately, my Son, the new owner, is fastidious when it comes to research, painfully so. The breeder then became the number one priority. That’s when we came across Coots, a renowned breeder of high quality, award winning Dachshunds with excellent lineage. We have not regretted one single moment of our decision. Coots carried us gently through an amazing journey with our Pup. The months of care. Commitment, compassion and professionalism was second to none. We had weekly, personal video’s, courtesy of the wonderful Marina, so that we could see how our Pup was progressing. Marina also gave visual tips on care and well-being. Coots are not limited to these weekly video’s. Kate offers excellent advice, and is always on hand to answer any queries (not sure when that woman sleeps)! Delivery of our precious cargo was really smooth. Coots kept us updated throughout the journey. Kate coordinated the safe delivery of approximately 10 pups, throughout the length and breadth of the UK, with military precision! The transport team were amazing. After such an arduous journey, I wasn’t expecting smiles, but that was what we got. Lovely young men. Our relationship with Coots isn’t over. Far from it. We’ve so enjoyed the process of getting our boy from Coots. Kate and team have done an amazing job raising Milton for his first year of life. We just got him yesterday at one year old. He is gentle, easy going, and gives so much love. He’s settling in fabulously to our big family and city life. Kate and team have been a real pleasure, and I can highly recommend Coots.

We have waited well over a decade for the right time to introduce a dog into our family set up. I’ve stalked Coots at Eversden online for a number of years knowing a Coots puppy was hands down always going to be our first choice.

We have received our beautiful boy, Chester a couple of days before Christmas and honestly this whole process from beginning to end has beyond exceeded our expectations. What Kate and her fabulous team at Coots offer is undoubtably the gold standard, crème de la crème service.

Trusting Kate’s expert advice and years of experience, we decided to wait a bit longer to receive our puppy and allow him some additional weeks to become an infant instead of getting him at 12 weeks old. It made total sense to us to give a puppy longer with its mother and siblings and more time to develop and mature in his own time. As a result we can see we have received a happy, curious, very confident and well socialised dog that is settling well into our family life.

I would highly recommend Coots. From first reservation of Ruby to finally having her join our family, they have been fantastic. So much excellent advice and communication with them is friendly and efficient. Our weekly videos from Marina in Bulgaria helped us to forge a bond with her. Ruby arrived with us last week and is well socialised and so loving. She is settling in well and we are delighted with her. The groups on What’s App were a really nice way to share information and get to know all the pups in the litter.

We have had Doris home with us for a week now and she is the most perfect girl.

She instantly took to me from the moment I picked her up. She is confident, super smart and takes everything in her stride- nothing seems to phase her. The socialisation process that Coots put them through really works and is way more than I would ever have had the time or knowledge to do with a puppy. Another brilliant benefit of getting an infant is that you don’t need to wait on vaccinations to take them out as they have had them already.

She is an absolute dream on the lead and very rarely barks. She is so settled in the car and have already had a few trips to local cafes and she behaves so well and doesn’t bother about any other dogs there. She is also so good with my kids (age 8 and 4) and they adore her.

We are still working on crate training for naps and bedtime but I know she will get there just like she has with everything else.

I can’t thank Coots enough- Marina and the team for raising her into the confident girl she is and looking after for the first almost 6 months and to Kate for always being there with quick and professional communication along with providing really useful information and support. Even now, I know she is only a message away if I need anything.

I reserved Doris when she was 7 weeks old and from then I received weekly videos and information on her progress and training so I felt I knew her before we even met.

We’ve very recently taken home 2 exquisite mini dachshunds from Coots at Eversden. A chocolate and tan boy who is 6 months old and a chocolate dapple boy from the same litter. They are utterly beautiful and Marina and her team have done an amazing job. Since their births in May we’ve had daily/ weekly updates on their progress including pictures and videos. Marina also provided frequent recorded sessions on everything from sleeping routines, feeding, toileting, grooming and even advice on winter coats for the U.K.!

Kate also kept us abreast of all things from the U.K. side including great advice on what to expect in those first few weeks and months once the boys arrived and settled into their new home with us.

So grateful for the support and help and would highly recommend these fantastic women!

I was very anxious when Bruno embarked on his journey over to me but there was no need. He arrived energetic and healthy with a wagging tail and lot of kisses. I came across Coots on Instagram by chance and started following them and from there I fell in love. Fast forward almost 5 years later and my husband finally said yes to a dachshund! Coots was the only place I wanted to purchase one from.

From the day I enquired up until now (I’ve had Monty 4 weeks) the communication has been amazing. Kate listened to everything I asked for and we were updated weekly while waiting for our pup (4 months!) this included their training record, weight and how their personalities were developing. Marina did an outstanding job of looking after him- even when he was a naughty sausage!

When Monty arrived in the UK, the updates became daily and Kate allowed me and my husband to meet Monty before we picked him.

The day we picked him up was after come true- everything is taken care of and nothing is too much trouble.

The aftercare at Coots is also 5*, unfortunately our puppy become unwell and Kate offered us advice about vets, what we should be doing etc which really put at ease as first time owners.

I came across Coots on instagram and started following them, I always wanted a dachshund so couldn’t believe my luck. I never knew which breeder to go with and who to trust but Kate changed that. Kate is a fantastic breeder so professional right from the first day i messaged her. She was so helpful and invited me to join a whats app group where i had daily updates to watch slinky grow and see all his most important milestones. It was the most amazing experience! We collected slinky from coots and it was one of the most memorable days meeting him. He settled in straight away with myself and family. We already have a 6 year old Cavapoo & started enquiring about a little daschund when we met one of Coots clients in a park near us. Their dog seemed so good with our ‘coco’ & our littlest just adores a sausage!

After a long search for the perfect kennel, we found it! Marina and Kate are exceptional, answered our hundreds of questions and continued after the puppy came into our home. Extremely dedicated and loving their work and puppies! The weekly updates they send about the puppy from the day he is born until you pick him up are wonderful and exciting every time for the whole family. We personally took our puppy from the kennel in Bulgaria and looked at the whole building, the conditions in which all the dogs are looked after, the huge yard, it’s dachshund heaven! Extremely clean, tidy, made with perfect thought and dedication a place that everyone would want their dog to come from! As a result, we got a puppy almost 4 months old, we were expecting a baby that we would need to teach everything, but we received calm, well-behaved, trained in routine and hygiene needs, with an exceptional temperament and perfect vision! Marina and Kate have been great right from the beginning. Sending updates and videos on a regular basis to update us on the progress of Rickie.
We choose to have an infant as we thought it would be easier to take a dog a little older as he would come to us with basic training.
Rickie is a joy and such a handsome boy we truly love him. We have had him now for 7.5 weeks and he is settling more and more. He walks great on the lead and also loves being off lead.

Where do I even start? I contacted Kate over a month ago expressing my interest in her infant sausages. I spotted a beautiful little boy called Louis who ticked every box, I was looking for a long hair daxie who would get along with my 1 year old Labrador who is an excitable boy. It was impossible to find an infant dog anywhere until I stumbled across coots on Facebook. Kate was amazing as I had so many questions and worries and Kate always put my mind at ease, sending me photos, videos everything I needed to know. After a few weeks of texting we decided to meet half way to meet Louis, bringing my dog along too. He was absolutely gorgeous and Kate gave us all needed info on our meet, you can tell how knowledgeable Kate is and how much she cares for her pups. We obviously took Louis home and he is absolutely amazing – after a couple weeks he now plays away with my lab which is all we wanted. Kate is still on the other end of the phone for any tips and tricks for us. The whole team were fantastic from start to finish and all of their pups are stunning, we get so many compliments on walks. Review no.2 as we now have 2 beautiful Coots Pups!

We have the beautiful Frank (black and tan smooth mini almost 15 months old) picked him up as a 6-month infant in Nov 2023. My husband and I always knew we wanted another pup and brother for Frank quite soon so when Kate told us Frank’s dad Oliver had another litter we though a half-brother would be perfect!

We watched this lovely and handsome mini smooth brown and tan pup grow up to 7 months and were almost ready to collect however Kate made the hard decision to tell us that she didn’t believe the pup and Frank were well suited. Our Frank is a very sweet, very gentle and a submissive boy who does exactly what he is told to do. Whereas the new pup is very confident, dominant and is better suited with female and more mature dogs and there was only 8 months difference between the two. Naturally my husband and I were disappointed to hear this news having fallen in love with this pup but also respected Kate’s professional opinion. HOWEVER there was another beautiful boy, Bruno, 8 months old looking for his forever home. Bruno was a 6-month-old infant and unfortunately his first family due to personal circumstances were no longer able to keep him so Kate was looking for his perfect match. As Kate has spent an extended time with Bruno and the 6 months with Frank she knew both their personalities well and thought they would get on well and god was she right! We took Frank to meet Bruno to see how they got along and it was immediate besties and my husband and I fell quickly in love with Bruno and agreed he was our perfect new boy.

We have had Bruno for almost 3 weeks now and you wouldn’t believe these 2 boys didn’t grow up together! Bruno is well and truly settled into our home (literally took 2 weeks to settle into or routine), this is really one of the advantages of having an infant/mature dog they are quick to learn and understand their new environment and luckily Bruno fell in love very quickly to all! Frank and Bruno are eating, sleeping, playing, napping and all the other lovely activities. This really just reaffirms that Kate knows exactly what she is doing. She really cares about where her pups and going for their wellbeing and how the match will be to the family, environment and other pets.

We are so glad that we chose Coots at Eversden for our breeders. We have been given weekly updates on how Dash is doing before joining our family and he is a loving boy. We really couldn’t ask for more from Kate and Marina. They are experts and are always there to answer any questions before and after picking up Dash. Today makes 48 hours we have had our two mini dachshund puppies, Jasper and Gus. Ages 8 and 6 months, respectively, they have been thoroughly loved and nurtured by Marina and her wonderful staff in Bulgaria. Though we’ve only had them two days, we feel like we have known them from birth through our own nurturing from Kate in the UK and her willingness to answer any questions or concerns (and I mean ANY!), to impart useful puppy knowledge, and to – our favorite! – post weekly videos of our puppies as they grow and learn and play with their littermates. It’s hard to express how well this joint operation works – Marina preparing the pups physically while Kate prepares the pup parents mentally and emotionally. It all culminates in not only getting a healthy, beautiful, well-adjusted puppy (or two!), but in realizing that you are now part of a much larger family. Through Whatsapp and Facebook, we are now connected to pup siblings and friends all over the world, celebrating with us on our new pups, knowing firsthand the fabulous little sausages we have just brought home. Jasper and Gus have stolen our hearts, and their sweet natures and dispositions are a direct result of impeccable care and training from Coots. We are so grateful to them for our boys and for allowing us to be a part of such a special family.

Wow, just wow. I am amazed and taken away by the constant communication and weekly videos. We reserved Bella the day she was born and not one week went by without an update. From the minute I saw the Coots Social media posts I knew that I wanted a Coots Dog. I had looked at many different breeders but had such a good feeling after speaking with Kate, she was very understanding and answered all my hundreds of questions with no pressure at all to buy one of her dogs.

Buying an infant dog from Coots at Eversden has been a wonderful experience from first communication to bringing our little Dottie home. I came across Coots thanks to a facebook member who recommended them when I mentioned looking for a puppy. After perusing the website, I discovered that they also sell infants and we felt this would be a better fit for us. We soon chose the puppy we wanted and thanks to weekly videos and photos from Marina in Bulgaria, we were able to watch her grow into the beautiful infant she is today. When Dottie was transported to the UK, we were able to follow her journey and when she arrived, we were finally able to meet her. She was everything we had hoped for. During her time with Kate in the UK, we followed her daily as she enjoyed life in the valley with other sausages including those she travelled with. It was so lovely to watch her daily antics. Kate provides lots of helpful information, links and tutorials on all aspects of owning a dachshund, all of which has been very welcome. We are experienced and long term Dachshund owners and have had dogs of various ages and different backgrounds (rescues, rehomes and from puppy) over the last 14 years or so. Having recently lost our dog Ted to cancer, our dog Digby (12 years old) was struggling to adjust being without another canine companion.

I came across Coots following some online research and sent an initial enquiry email about taking on a mature Dachshund. From that moment until we collected Cindy, Kate has been very professional, always swift to answer any emails or Whatsapp messages and of course is extremely knowledgeable. We also received regular video from Marina in Bulgaria whilst Cindy was still under her care.

From the moment Cindy left Coots in Bulgaria, Kate set up a Whatsapp group for all the expecting dog parents and kept us up to date on a daily basis with progress reports. Once the dog and infants had arrived in the UK, we received daily photos and videos as well as very useful podcast type information relevant to us. This whole process really helped us to begin to make a connection with Cindy and made it all much more real. It certainly helped ease the final collection moment. It is SO nice and comforting too that there is ‘post dog collection’ support. A rare thing in our experience so far.

Myself and my husband are new to being dog owners. We did a lot of research and came across Coots and we’re so glad we did! With us being new to being dog owners we thought that getting an infant would be perfect for us.

Our little Frankie has the best temperament and is the most chill and loving little pup. He loves to be around people and has adapted in every situation he has been in with us from meeting other people and animals to going to a busy pub.

It has been a little tricky with bedtime but he is still a pup and has had to get used to a completely new life so is expected also us learning about him along the way and getting him into our own routine. We know he’ll adapt though just like he has with everything else

Like many of us, I have been a ‘pet parent’ before, but after my last dog sadly passed away, I wasn’t sure I could love again; however, when I became my mum’s carer, I knew we needed a new life in our house to make it a home again.

I have been wanting to write this for a while but I must confess I was quite shy because English is not my first language and I didn’t want to keep going back and forth and correct it as it makes me feel it can take away that real feeling of the raw emotion I want to pass on. So I apologize for any grammar mistake or anything else related to lack of beautiful English.
I want to talk about love and love I believe is Universal so we are good.
Love in this context has a name and his name is Charlie. Little Charlie, ChaCha, Dach, Saucy, these are all the names I call him through out the day.
Charlie is in our hearts or at least in my 8 years old son’s heart for about 3 years so although Charlie is a 7 month old dachshund for me it feels that he is with us longer than that because of how much we talked about him and my son dreamed about him.
We were reluctant to get a puppy and we didn’t know much where to look or how we would manage to get a dog in Dubai where we live. We have had not a good experience with people providing puppies in this region so we were quite skeptical about the whole thing.
We kept looking through friends in England but nothing was making us feel comfortable to do that extra step.
It was when I came across to Coots at Eversden while doing a search on dachshunds online.
For the first time I started to think that it could actually work as I was very impressed with them on how it look so professional.
I would go there often to watch the videos of the puppies and it would make me feel so happy.
We decided to finally call and everything after that was nothing short of outstanding service and a magical experience.
Kate and all her team not only made everything we wanted possible but they made sure to always be available and promptly reassuring us about any question we had and making sure that the puppy were taking care of during the entire process.
I have never seen people to care so much about the puppies as them.
We waited for little Charlie to come to an age that he could travel.
We were weekly provided with pictures and videos and explanations about the puppy’s development.
The big day arrived and we were excited and of course a bit anxious ( but good anxious).
When we met Charlie our hearts melt and opened so wildly to embrance him in our lives.
He was well. He was not traumatized by the travel. He was so handsome.
It just took him few days to adapt to our routine as he already came trained.
Even though he is Arya’s we have a special bond.
He brought this fresh feeling of a new kind of happiness into our lives.
His love is pure and we do love him back so so much.
I always joke and I call him lord because he has this aura of royalty around him. He is so polite.
I know he understands everything I say.
He is very happy and we are very happy with him.
If you want a dachshund and you are ready for it do not hesitate to contact them. It is worth it and you will surely be happy as we are.

Best decision I made in purchasing a new puppy, the whole process was flawless. I hadn’t planned to choose an infant but after discussing that I wanted to get into showing Kate suggested Emmie and she was perfect I fell in love immediately.

Kate’s team constantly provided us with daily photos and videos of their activities up until we went to collect her. Kate and Marina have been generous with their time and nothing has been a problem.

I purchased a confident yet gentle dachshund who hasn’t been phased by anything. I run a grooming salon and from day one she has loved the hustle and bustle of my clients and meeting and greeting the other dogs. The socialisation process adopted by Coots is obviously working!

After wanting a sausage pupper for over five years, my husband and I stumbled upon Charley, a 2.5 year old long haired mini, and immediately fell in love. Although we were nervous about adopting an older dog rather than a puppy, I couldn’t be happier with our decision. He came complete with a pet passport so he’s travel-ready and a lovely gift bag of his favorite things. All that’s left for us to do now is shower him with lots of love and adventures.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Coots. Marina and Kate and their team were incredibly attentive and informative, making us feel confident as first-time pawrents. Humphrey is perfect, socialised, toilet trained and just such a soft and gentle dog he is perfect for my family and settled so quickly with my my other miniature dachshund’s, he is absolutely beautiful and a joy. So much so that I have just got another standard dachshund Ernie as a playmate for Humphrey, Kate delivered him yesterday to me and again the service she provided was faultless. He is quiet, socialised not phased by anything and toilet trained! What Kate and the team do with their puppies before they are found homes in invaluable, it takes so much stress out of having a new puppy as you get to enjoy them and they are so well behaved such a joy. I am blown away by Kate and Coots at Eversden. Everything about my whole experience from first contacting Kate right through to picking up Pearl was perfect.
It was important to me after owning 2 Dachshunds and losing one really early that my next sausage was going to have to be the best example of the breed I could find. After researching and finding Coots I knew I wanted to use this breeder.
Kate is super quick at replying to messages and was super easy to work with throughout. I knew the exact dog I wanted Black and Tan girl and Kate quickly made me aware of Pearl who was available. Sorting a meet for me and my current sausage to meet Pearl was quick and when we met I knew this was the puppy to join our family.
These puppies are bred in the best environment they are such well socialised and given the best start. Kate’s knowledge of the breed is phenomenal and her love for each puppy really shows. I originally was unsure of getting another dog until summer and Kate was really understanding and there was absolutely no pressure throughout. The purchase was completely led by me and my family.

Pearl was 8 months when I picked her up and having previously had 2 sausage pups at 10 weeks old I would never ever consider another 8-12 week puppy. Infants are 100% the way forward. Pearl is confident, socialised and has a routine, is completely vaccinated so we can go straight out for walks. She was great and has slotted in to our busy lives Amazingly she also sleeps well has had no accidents leaving all the time for love and cuddles and walks instead of changing puppy pads and dealing with a crying pup overnight.

I would never consider another breeder for dachshunds going forward. My other 2 were from good breeders but these dogs, facilities and breeders are a level up.

We collected our beautiful boy Louis on Monday and what a joy he has been. He slept peacefully on his first night in our home. Toilet training has been a breeze and Louis is actually going to the door when he needs to toilet. He is a bold ,confident ,and loving little chap and in my opinion this is all due to his breeding and the care and attention that Kate has given both him and all her other dachshunds. Kate kept us informed via videos, photos and regular daily updates on the pups progress from the day they were born and we found this very helpful. Louis will be a brother for Logan who we purchased from Kate two years ago and we are looking forward to the fun that these two boys will give us over the years to come. I highly recommend Kate if you are considering buying a pup or infant in the future as she is honest, passionate and more than helpful and is always at the end of the phone to help if you have a problem.

Words cannot express the fantastic experience we’ve had since engaging with Kate Venables at Coots. We’ve had the Dachshund breed for 25years & this is our first time purchasing from Kate – certainly wont be the last! We’ve taken on a 7 month old boy- Laurel, brother of Hardy. I would now never consider going anywhere else to purchase either a puppy or more mature dog.

Any pup from Coots is just amazing, exceptionally high quality, loved and perfectly socialised, with wonderful communication from pregnancy, birth, collection and beyond, but when considering our second mini from them we opted for a 7 month old infant rather than a 9 week old puppy and it was the best decision we ever made. We still received photos and videos on a regular basis from birth but when Katie came to us at 7 months, she fitted into our family perfectly within 24 hours. She was fully toilet trained, confident, caring and an instant companion for our first Coots pup who was 18 months. They were inseparable within 24 hours. She slept 10 hours through the night from the first day but still has a cheeky puppy playful temperament. In hindsight, we would have chosen an infant the first time we used Coots but wouldn’t change Hallie for the world. Puppies are very cute but I can’t recommend a Coots infant highly enough.

Having already got an 18th month old mini, we knew we wanted to get another. When we saw Ronnie, we knew he would fit right in.
Kate was really helpful and it felt like she was determined to match the right dog with the right family, making sure that we were suited to each other. Kate sent us lots of pictures and information about Ronnie and was happy to meet up so we could introduce our current dog, Albert, to make sure he was compatible with Ronnie.
We picked Ronnie up yesterday and having a 6 month old rather than a puppy has meant that he has fitted right in.
It’s early days but he seems to get on with Albert just fine and Kate is happy to be in the end of the phone if we need any advice.

Working at Coots I have the pleasure of spending time with all of the puppies, but this litter, Bonita’s boys, were different for me. It was love at first sight when I met them.
We welcomed Harry & Cobi into our family home this week. Kate suggested we wait until they were 13 weeks old. The wait nearly killed us but she has always maintained that the longer they stay at Coots, the better and easier the transition. Having not had a dog or puppy before this seemed the right thing to do. Wow she was right! We cannot believe how perfect the boys have been. They are clean day and night, are in an excellent routine and sleep all night not a peep! They haven’t suffered any anxiety being in their new environment. They are happy, confident and a joy to have around.

After doing lots of research online, we came across Coots at Eversden. We spoke to Kate, put our name on the waiting list & she invited us to her annual ‘Cootsfest’ event to meet her & her dogs. From that day, after speaking with Kate & people who had got puppies from her previously, we knew she was the only breeder we wanted to get our puppy from!

Kate let us know when Bonita was pregnant and then kept us up-to-date throughout the pregnancy & the labour! We then got daily updates on the puppies, which made us feel like we knew them before we’d even met them!

Enzo has now been at home for almost three weeks and is such a confident, calm, perfect puppy – which is all down to Coots and the amazing start he had in life.

We weren’t looking for a dog, but Maggie kind of found us – and oh my goodness, are we glad she did.

We have a pup of Maggie’s in the family. It was through this connection that we came to hear about Coots at Eversden and Maggie. Knowing how much I adore Maggie’s daughter, my interest was immediate.

Even though we weren’t sure it was the right time for us, Kate was so lovely and very generous with her time, answered all of our questions and supported us through making our decision. We explained our home environment and arranged to meet Maggie. Shortly afterwards, Maggie was on her way home with us.

Maggie is exactly as she was described to us. She has the most amazing temperament, and is the perfect fit for our family.

From start to finish my experience with Coots at Eversden has been fantastic. Knowing the exact colour and sex of mini dachshund I wanted Kate kept me on her waiting list while I patiently waited. On the day Gretel was born Kate messaged me that the day had finally arrived and I was delighted. Due to my family circumstances I decided that an infant would better suit my family rather than a younger dog. The wait was therefore a longer one but I was kept updated by Marina in Bulgaria and Kate in the UK with regular videos and photos of her progress. So even though she did not come to me until aged 6 months I have lots of pics of her to keep as she was growing up so it seems like she has been here for much longer! Since coming home Gretel has been a joy and slotted easily in to family life. Kate and Marina take extra care in their breeding to ensure that the puppies they breed are healthy and happy, you can certainly see this in Gretel and all of her litter mates. We can’t express what a fantastic experience this has been!

We first started speaking with Kate in Jan 2023 after finding her on Instagram. We had never seen such gorgeous daxies and could immediately see the quality of their breeding! Upon further discussion with Kate you won’t find a purer bloodline of daxies!

My family have had many dachshunds in the past and it was my dream to have my own. When Kate and I started discussing a 6-month old infant over a puppy it wasn’t something I’d heard of before but thought it was ingenious. It was a lovely experience throughout watching the pups grow up and see their personalities blossom and when we got to meet them that was the moment you could really test the bond was there and of course it was! Kate and her team were so thorough with their updates and shared advise and answered any and all questions asked.

We have now brought our Frank home and we can’t believe what a well trained, well adjusted little boy he is even in the first few days! Naturally it will take time for Frank to settle into our house, rules and routine but because he is 6 months old he understands these changes easily.

We wouldn’t change a thing about how my lovely boy came into our lives. Kate has made it the whole experience such a breeze and has continued to advise and support myself and the other pups families through this journey. I have always wanted a mini dachshund but my space has never been big enough so this has just remained as a little dream. Having moved to a bigger space recently the little dream has come into the plan phase. Kate and Coots came highly recommended by my friends who are sausage moms. I knew Kate was the one after our first conversation. She was very encouraging and sounded business like, not pushy. She wants to find the right pup for me and also the right home for her precious pups (and she even talked me out of the fear of London public transport with a puppy). I fell in love with Bonita and then the rest is history.

Apart from all the traits of an amazing and responsible breeder, what makes Coots great is the journey they offer. The updates with videos and pictures really took us up the life time journey of the puppies. I personally keep a folder for Rex, from his birth to the goodbye to his Coots mom. This is incredibly precious. Now and then I watched back the video and am amazed by how much he has grown up (not just physically but the personality, the overall development) – all thanks to the amazing coots family. The moment when I held Rex in my hands I knew we are going to be the best partners in crime. The advices from Kate are great. She still follows up on Rex and checks in to make sure we are okay and Rex is settling in. All Coots sausages are Kate’s babies and we are so very very lucky.

Kate and I were first in contact August 2022 and I knew as soon as we spoke she was our breeder. The time, thought and diligence she took on that call gave me every confidence that not only would our puppy be perfect, but the journey would also be incredibly special. Her communication is exemplary. Kate was, and still is, always on hand. Through Malone’s entire pregnancy journey and the weeks following the birth we received daily, if not hourly, updates including pictures and videos to share in every step. Further, the guidance and information provided helped us no end in ensuring we were more than prepared for our gotcha day. The care given to all dogs and puppies at Coots is outstanding. Margot has now been at home for two weeks and not only is she the most gorgeous puppy, breaking hearts wherever she goes, but she has the most loving nature, softest temperament and is incredibly confident even at such a young age. Throughout the entire process – from our initial conversation to the support once Brodie was home with us – has been absolutely fantastic. You may find cheaper puppies online but they won’t have the pedigree, the health checks, the upbringing and the follow up advice and assistance. We are thrilled with our little girl and are so pleased we got in touch with Kate.

I first contacted Kate in February 2021 about welcoming a special little dachshund into our home. As a family, we had to wait all this time due to other things going on in our lives. I have owned a miniature dachshund for almost 13 years. When my daughter wanted to buy a puppy herself she thoroughly explored the availability of quality breeders. She came across Kate Venables at Coots Puppies (now Coots Eversden) and put her name down on a waiting list. She secured the purchase of a chocolate and tan long-haired puppy and named him Moose. On completion of her mother duties, Moose’s mum was offered to me as a rehome. I jumped at the chance to have a beautiful, mature dachshund to complement an older dog and puppy situation at my home. I feel that this was a unique opportunity to have mum and son living together with our dog and the trio would be complete. Kate has been exceptional in providing me with all the background information on Daphne (formally known as Thais) and I feel more than prepared to take on another adult dog. I feel her pedigree is secured and now her breeding experience is complete she needs a quality home for the next phase of her life. She has been a show dog, become a mother and now needs a family home. She will have a life now as a pet and I can offer her a chance to be just that. Kate’s experience as a breeder ensures that she has very high quality dogs to re home once their breeding experience ends. Their condition and temperament is exceptional and therefore rehoming an adult dog becomes easier. I feel these mature dogs can offer love and companionship to any situation and make long lasting friends with humans and dogs alike. I hope more people embrace the benefit of taking on a mature dog at home as this can provide benefits from both perspectives. Kate believes that her dogs deserve the best chance to live out their lives as well loved pets in a family home where they will be safe and happy. Dogs have many phases in their lives and I am pleased to be able to offer my dog the opportunity to live out her life in exactly that way. She deserves nothing less. Puppies undoubtedly have the “ah” factor but are also very hard work. They also need toilet training. Mature dogs have most of those elements sorted which can be a huge bonus. They’re ready to go. If you are looking to have a sausage dog then look no further. Following every stage of my puppy from birth has been a complete joy. Meeting everyone at Coot’s Fest initially was fantastic! Kate’s regular video updates and photos meant that when I collected George it was like I had known him forever. Meeting him at 3 weeks with his siblings and mum Luna was a very special day and Kate gave great advice and clearly lives and breathes her beautiful sausages. You couldn’t wish for a more caring breeder. George is an utter joy and thanks to all of Kate’s hard work he has settled with us wonderfully. What can I say other than thank you to Kate! I first contacted just testing the waters as we had been let down by a breeder and a rescue charity…from the first text to even now the lines of communication have been excellent even though we encountered some issues (not of mine or Kate’s fault) which meant we now have the stunning Ronnie in our family.
I can’t stress how professional the Coots team is, the premises are fantastic and you know you’re are dealing with an expert breeder …..but more importantly, the dogs are all well looked after, happy and healthy .

I had been on the search for a standard dachshund for a while and was waiting until i had found a breeder where i knew the pups were being being cared for well enough and bred to the right standards, as this is so important with this breed.

I couldn’t recommend Kate enough for all her support both in the lead up to bringing our little girl home but also for the ongoing support when she joined our family.

From the moment I enquired about our little Dolly, Kate provided us with constant updates and invited me down to Coots before I made any decisions about bringing her home. At no point did I feel pressured or rushed into making a decision. From the moment I arrived at Coots I know that I had found the right breeder for me.

The BEST breeder around.

I found Kate almost a year ago after spending a long time researching and trying to find a well established breeder and was blown away by her ethics towards sausage dog breeding. For me, this was the most important thing and something very important to me when buying a puppy dachshund. Kate answered all of my questions without any hesitation from the beginning no matter how much I asked including all information on health checks and KC registration.

She has been amazing the entire way through, from the first time I contacted her and even weeks after collecting my girl. She gave me updates daily and is always a text away no matter what. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and breeder. She adores all her dogs immensely and it really shows, she is completely transparent which was key for me and I wouldn’t trust anyone but her.

I could go on forever about how amazing the whole experience was, including everything Kate did for Valentine, such as her microchipping and socialisation before I collected her. We left with all her paper work that Kate had in order for us which made life super easy when we collected her. She goes way above and beyond as a breeder and I feel so grateful to have been able to have one of her pups. Just know you are in the best hands possible with Kate and her puppies are utterly gorgeous.

My husband and I were a bit aprehensive at first in getting a little dachshund because of all the stories you hear about their backs and problems but that was all put to rest with all the lovely support that we got from Kate and how she told us which one to go for due to our situations (there are a lot of stairs in the house!)

The non stop support on WhatsApp, all the questions were answered – it was almost that we had Kate in the house. It was faultless and also how much she cares for these little ones and their mums. She still keeps us informed of news etc on the group chat

We found Kate in the summer of 2022 via a recommendation from someone on Instagram. We messaged Kate to ask if she had any boys left from her most recent litter (born July 2022) and thus began our journey to welcoming our beloved Norman into our family. ❤️
Kate was fantastic, sending us lots of information and photos, and really vetting us to make sure her pups went to their perfect home.
Once we had chosen our pup from pictures, we went down to visit him, Kate and Beanie in person, which was so lovely and very reassuring to meet his siblings and see where the pups had been born and raised.
Kate added us to a WhatsApp group with the fellow “pawrents-to-be” and kept us all up to date with daily videos and photos of the litter (highlight of our day whilst counting down to collect our little man). The group has since proved really supportive for queries anyone has had since getting the pups home, and Kate is fantastic at responding quickly to anyone’s questions or worries.
We feel SO lucky to have stumbled upon Coots Dachshunds and really feel part of a community of sausage dog lovers who want the best for their pups. Kate hosted the Coots alumni at her annual party and it was so lovely to meet Norman’s siblings and other Coots dogs, as well as see Kate and her family again.

Our Marlo is an absolute dream. Thank you so much Kate for bringing Penny into our lives! She’s a perfect little pup. The entire process was amazing. We got photo and video updates on the litter and the parents throughout the pregnancy until the pick up date. Kate starts socialising the puppies and keeps them busy with different plays and feeders so our Penny was well prepared prior to coming to her forever home with us. It’s difficult to find a trustful breeder these days but Kate is transparent and the entire team are always ready to answer any questions you may have. Douglas our Standard Chocolate Dapple has now been home with us 3 weeks and has quickly become a much loved member of our family.

What can I say about Coots?

We were looking for a Mini Dachshund and found Coots. As first time dog owners we needed all the support that is out there which Kate provided from the very beginning. Kate advised which dog was best for us and what we needed to do every step of the way. She is always at the end of the phone or WhatsApp.

Coots are never too busy to share pupdates. We received regular updates from scans, the birth, to the pups first pose for the camera.

Arthur Sully is wonderful and it’s clear to see how much care and love has been put into raising him for us. I am sure we will need help and advice with Arthur for a while and know Kate and her team will be there us.

I am also sure I will get talked into having another dachshund in the future!

Knowledgeable, kind, caring, experienced are few words I would use to describe Kate! From 3 days old I was kept up to date with every step of my puppy’s journey. Kate loves her dogs very much and all the attention and hard work she gives is truly amazing.

Coffee (my standard dachshund pup) is a healthy, playful, cheeky, confident all round happy boy who loves life (and cuddles) more than anything… I put this down to the wonderful start he had in his life with Kate and cannot recommend and her staff enough. A huge thanks to Kate and the Coots team for giving us such a fantastic puppy – Henry, our 9 week old standard Black and Tan Dachshund.

Kate has kept us informed of his progress since his birth with daily updates until we collected him. This included a weekly weight chart as well as several videos and photos.

The level of care and attention has certainly had a positive effect on Henry as when we brought him home he settled straight into his overnight crate with no fuss at all and has totally adapted to his new family environment from day one. In addition Kate has regularly checked in to ensure Henry has settled and been available for any questions or concerns, of which there are none.

We have zero hesitation in recommending purchasing a Dachshund, so much so my daughter has subsequently purchased a Coots puppy, Henry’s sister, to be collected upon her return from holiday!

We Purchased our Beautiful girl from Kate at Coots Puppies. We were so pleased with the detail and regular updates she provided us with from Beanies pregnancy to the birth and beyond.
