How Our Pups Are Prepared for a Stress-Free Journey

At Coots at Eversden, our pups are carefully prepared to handle travel before they go to their forever homes. Whether by road or air, we ensure they are accustomed to the experience, so they are comfortable and confident when it’s time to leave us. This is especially important as we sell our puppies worldwide, and many journeys involve long trips.

Getting Pups Ready for Travel

Our pups are introduced to travel early on. From a young age, they take short car rides to get used to movement and the sensation of travelling. This helps reduce any potential stress as travel becomes familiar to them. It’s a gradual process that builds their confidence for longer journeys. Also, travel links from our sister kennel in Bulgaria make sending pups abroad easier due to the excellent transport connections by road and air.

Air Travel with Small Dogs

You may not know this, but some airlines allow small dogs that weigh less than 8kg to travel in the cabin with their owners. This is a much less stressful experience for our pups than being separated in the cargo hold. Thanks to the preparation we provide, our pups are more than ready for these types of trips. They have already been conditioned to handle new environments, making flying with their new families smooth and easy.

Exposure to Sounds and Sights

From 2 to 3 months old, our pups are exposed to a range of sounds to help them feel at ease in different situations. Whether it’s TV shows, action-packed movies, or the noises of transport, they become familiar with sounds that might otherwise seem overwhelming. This is important in reducing anxiety during travel or when encountering loud, unfamiliar environments.
